As summer construction season kicks in, the Dan Ryan reconstruction project will be causing all kinds of congestion: The expressway will be reduced to as few three open lanes in each direction from 13th Street to the I-57 Interchange. So we're asking area drivers to rank the best alternatives to the South Side expressway.

As Chicago Police Superintendent Jody Weis takes heat for the city's rising crime rate, Beverly and Morgan Park neighbors are reeling from two separate shootings just four days - and two miles - apart that killed two and left two more injured.

In both shootings the victims were shot several times, and police have said that they don't suspect robbery as a motive. The circumstances are similar, the timing is remarkable, and the proximity of the shootings is worth noting. Do you think the shootings were related to gang activity?
