One dead in Beverly shooting

Categorized under:

A 26-year-old Beverly man is dead after he and another man were shot while sitting in their car in the 9600 block of South Charles Street last night.

Police say a lone gunman approached the vehicle just after 10 p.m. and fired several rounds into the vehicle.

The other man, age 25, was treated for multiple bullet wounds at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he is listed in critical condition.

Robert White, 26, who was shot in the chest and the shoulder, was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Chicago police say that the shooting likely is not gang related but that it stemmed from a dispute earlier this week.

Mount Greenwood has gone to

Mount Greenwood has gone to hell. Since summer I know of two teenaged beatings that only became complaints, no charges, a drunk drives up on a lawn and begins swearing so loud that it is heard 2 blocks away ( no DUI ) issued), mobs of teenagers throwing apples at drivers as they go past, same mob threatening small children. PARENTS, DO YOU KNOW WHERE YOUR CHILDREN ARE!!!!!!!!! Get off your bar stools and parent for Gods sake!I am done with " Boys will be boys " comments. Parents need to be accountable for their children. The police will be called everytime and I will press charges. By the way, where has 2211 car been?????Heard a rumor it has been re assigned to a district that NEEDS it more?????I pay my taxes, I don't get police protection??????? Hello......alderman???? Are you there????

The police have caught a few

The police have caught a few of those troublesome teens, though - three West Beverly teens were arrested July 8 and charged with several counts of burglary in the wake of nearly a dozen garage burglaries in the previous 24 hours in the 9900 and 10000 blocks of Washtenaw and Talman avenues.
