Both Top-Notch Beefburgers and Grant's Wonderburger got the nod in a recent post on Serious Eats City Guide: Chicago for having some of the city's best burgers:
"If you like World War II era style freshly ground and griddled thin patties, try Top-Notch Beefburgers or Grant's Wonderburger Grill."
It's hard to disagree, but with so many other options (from steak to ice cream to Italian), we know many of you would argue that at least a few other area spots deserve a mention.
So what are some of your favorite "serious eats" in Mount Greenwood, Beverly and Morgan Park?
I love the south side. They have so many events that bring people together.
What's your favorite event?
Many would say the South Side Irish Parade because it brings in the most people. However, I think the Memorial Day Parade down Longwood Drive is better for families. Longwood Drive is a lot nicer than Western Avenue in my opinion as well.
Is there anything I'm leaving out? Let me know.
By popular belief, Chicago has the best pizza in the world. Beverly is one of the most famous neighborhoods in Chicago. So the question is, Where can one find the very best pizza in the village?
Fox's Restaurant and Pub, located on the west side of Western Avenue near 101st Street is probably the most popular place, but is it really the best? Fox's definitely has a unique style to it. The pizza is greasy and loved by many. It has more of an American spice taste to it.
Borders Groups Inc. - the country's second largest bookstore chain - is exploring the possibility of closing half of its eight Chicago stores in an effort to soften the blow from a decline in profits after a slow holiday season.
While the Beverly store isn't one of the four on the list, its future could be cloudy if the Ann Arbor, Mich.-based company closes the others.
What do you think: How valuable is the store - and the property it sits on - to the 95th Street commercial strip east of Western?
