111th Street has always been

111th Street has always been a nightmare. It's two-way characteristic makes it look like a sidestreet, but the businesses and thoroughfare make it necessary to be classified a big street.

It seems like more progress is being made in the construction of the southeast corner of 95th and Western. Just a few months ago another building was up there. It does seem like more attention in general is given to the Beverly area than Mount Greenwood.

Sure, 111th Street is no Western Avenue, and you're right - there is a noticeable difference between the atmosphere of the two corridors. But shouldn't we take into consideration the fact that Western is a four-lane road, while 111th is a two-lane? Do you think that limits the amount of developments and types of developments in Mount Greenwood?

I have recently moved to Mount Greenwood, about a year ago. I absolutely love it here. I am wondering what it is that you meant by the comment of being treated like second class citizens. Please explain yourself further. I have never felt like a second class citizen and hope never to.

Walgreens project moving too slowly?

So the vice president of Terraco, Inc. (the Skokie-based developer of the "signature corner" project at the northwest corner of 111th and Kedzie) told Mount Greenwood residents Monday that he's doing the best he can to move the project along - and, if everything goes well, construction could begin as early as a year from now.
