Anyone missing a dozen parakeets?

They said it was historic. Alright, we can live with that. But, really, does anyone watch these "historic" events?

Do you know anyone who actually tunes in to the State of the Union address? Doesn't the whole Anderson-Cooper-in-Iraq thing get old after a while? Maybe. But then again, maybe not.

On a night that this nation seemingly has been anticipating for months, Sen. Barack Obama accepted his party's nomination as the presidential candidate on the Democratic ticket. But did anyone actually watch?

After all, the Cubs were hosting Philadelphia and RBI leader Ryan Howard, trying to secure a six-game lead over Milwaukee.

The Bears were on the road in Cleveland, trying to fire up their struggling defense just one week before the season opener in Indianapolis.

There was also the ever-feisty former prosecutor Nancy Grace, who had yet more "breaking news" in the case of missing Florida toddler Caylee Anthony.

Meanwhile, the Democratic National Convention was in full swing as Obama kicked off the 2008 presidential campaign season.
